Happy New Year Everyone,
Blessings from our Lord Jesus be with you all. Merry Christmas and happy 2024. May this new year bring you God’s joy, happiness, peace with one another and with our Lord. The years 2000, 2020 and 2023 are all history now. Today is the most important day of your life if you are loving it and living it in love and peace with each other. Please understand that every day is a gift from God. He loves us today and always. Please live your daily life with the purpose of becoming a saint. I am looking forward to being with you this weekend for Holy Masses as we will celebrate the Epiphany of the Lord, also the end of the Christmas season. Tuesday, January 9th is the first week in ordinary time. Also, I want to thank many of you who loved me in a special way with your daily prayers as well as remembering me this Christmas season and showering me with your best wishes, cards, and gifts, as well as sharing with me your family’s pictures and stories. Thank you and greatly appreciated. Finally, if you have not returned your stewardship forms for 2024 as well as your donation to help the church pay for the school’s heating and air system, please know that we need your financial help. You can spread your donations for however long you may need. Every family is expected to give something, big or small, because providing heating and air for our children is a must at our church and school. Also because we want our little ones to know that we love them and we care for their well being. Any amount today will be appreciated, Fr. Hien. Merry Christmas Everyone,
May the blessings of our Lord Jesus, Saint Joseph and the Blessed Mother Mary be with you all. Today, we celebrate the feast day of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. May your family always be one with God and with one another like the Holy Family. Jesus, Mary, and Joseph lived together on earth and now they are together in heaven. Please imitate the Holy Family with your true faith in God, your love for one another and prayers for all souls. Thank you for being faithful Catholics especially here at All Saints. I am blessed to have you as my parishioners. I always look forward to being with you and to celebrate our Catholic faith together. I wish you and your loved ones a very merry blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year full of love for God and for one another. God’s heavenly blessings be with you all, frhien. Fr. Hien’s Letter That Was Sent To All Parishioners & Benefactors:
My Dear Parishioners and Benefactors of All Saints Catholic Church & School, Blessings from our Lord be with you all. Please be assured of my love and prayer for you every day, especially at Holy Mass. I always enjoy seeing you at Holy Mass, especially the little children during their school Mass. I love our children and I always teach them and guide them because they are the future of our church and society. To provide our students with a suitable learning environment, in June we began installing brand new heating and cooling systems throughout the school. Thank God that we started the project then, otherwise, we would have no cooling or heating this coming winter for our students, teachers and staff. We are so thankful that the project has been going beyond expectations. A special thanks to the workers from Cooks HVAC and Linnebur Electric. All 30 units are installed and the majority of the electrical is done. We are just waiting for the electric company to run their brand-new power line to our school, located northeast of the gym. I am writing to ask for your financial help to pay for this important project for the love of our children today and many years to come. Each registered family of the parish is asked to donate a specific amount and if needed you can spread out your donations over two years. I apologize if I ask too much or not enough from you/your family. Please know that we spend about $5,000 per year ($8,000 high school) to educate each child or about $70,000 for one child through high school, besides the extra cost of $700 thousand for this needed project. The parish would like to ask parents/grandparents with a child attending a Catholic school, or who attended All Saints school, to consider helping us with the amount of $5,000. If you can do more, that’s great, if you can do as much, that is also appreciated. Please reach out to All Saints Alumni so that they too may join us in supporting our school. I am sure that with your love, prayer and contribution, we will continue to be in God’s good hands with one another, especially our children. Thank you to all the individuals, families and the organizations of the parish that have already donated. Thank you also to those who donated vegetables and many goods to sell after church. We are working hard for every dollar and we are using them wisely. Please know that I have asked a religious order to say 365 Masses for you and the benefactors of All Saints. We are blessed to be members and benefactors of All Saints. Jesus loves you all the time, Fr. Hien Suggested amount: $3,600 or I/We would like to make a gift of $__today. Please make a check payable to All Saints HVAC and drop it in the collection basket, in church office or by mail. Thư Của Cha Hiển Gửi Đến Toàn Thể Giáo Dân Và Quý Ân Nhân: Kính Thưa Toàn Thể Giáo Dân Và Các Ân Nhân Của Giáo Xứ Và Trường Học All Saints, Xin Chúa chúc lành cho tất cả quý vị và gia đình. Parish Penance Service: Sunday, December 17th from 4-5pm with Fathers: Curtis Hecker, Wayne Schmid, Nhat Ben Nguyen, Garret Burns, Ken Schuchman. Christmas Eve Masses: Sunday, December 24, at 4pm English, and 5:30pm Vietnamese. Christmas Day Mass: Monday, December 25 at 10:30am bilingual Mass. My Dear Parishioners,
Thank you for your stewardship way of life to our All Saints Catholic Church and School. We are here to teach the good news of salvation, and for the formation of our children. Children are most precious to us because they are the future of our church and society. God bless our children and all those who are helping us, our teachers and staff, to form them into disciples of Christ. On Wednesday, November 8th, the parish council members and finance committee will meet to review and finalize my fundraising letter to our parishioners, asking for your prayers and financial support to our parish, particularly for the school’s new HVAC system. This special letter along with the 2024 stewardship package will be sent to every family, and I hope it will bring you hope and joy reading it. Please know that I love you because of your faith and generosity. You are grateful people living in a grateful community and society. Thank you, God, and thanks, you all! As of now, the new gas line is hooked up to all the units, providing heat to all the classrooms and to most school buildings (we are waiting for the electrical company to run their new electric line in order to operate all the units). Thank God for all the hard work that has been done lately by the gas company workers as well as our hired workers. If it had not been for them, we would not have heat in the school like last February and March. I was told that the gas company had to bore/drill 850 feet from Hillside Road to the gym to provide gas to our new HVAC system. I am thankful that we don’t have to pay for this extra work done by the gas company. Please continue praying for all the faithful departed so that they may see God face to face in heaven today, Fr. Hien. My Dear Parishioners And Friends Of All Saints,
Blessings from our Lord be with you all. Thank you for your love for all Saints Catholic church and school, especially with your faithful stewardship way of life, including your attendance at Holy Masses and financial contributions. By now, every registered family should have received their Up To Date contribution statement to All Saints. If you have not received your letter in the mail, please contact the church office so that we can update your address. If you have not registered with us yet, please join us so that together we can be a team to serve our Lord in each other. Also, included in your letter was the church and school’s fiscal year financial statement for your viewing. This financial statement has been reported to the diocese for their annual viewing and editing if needed. As usual, we are required to report to the diocese all the financial contribution/collection as well as to tithe 10 percent of the total collection to the diocese, plus another 7.5 percent to the diocese to support Catholic education, especially to the two high schools and low-income parishes in Wichita. As you can tell in our bulletin, we have never met our weekly budget. This budgeted amount was established in 2018 as a guide for the parishioners to work toward. Please pray for me so that I will always be wise with your contribution and able to pay our bills for our church and school. I want to thank everyone for your faith in God and your financial support to the mission of the Catholic Church at All Saints as well as of the diocese and the global church. I can only encourage you to tithe and tithe faithfully to All Saints so that we can continue evangelizing and providing Catholic education to our children. FYI—soon the parish will be using Legacy Bank as our bank for our church and school’s banking. Legacy Bank is a Catholic family-owned bank that has done many good deeds as well as providing many wonderful services to the church. Every family is recommended to use our direct deposit/ACH banking system to help the parish save money from buying and shipping envelopes to your home. Church’s Directory: Please sign up to have your family picture taken on November 24th-25th—in the school. These are the only dates available. The 8x10 professional picture is free to you and to any family, including families that don't belong to our church or school. Please encourage your loved ones and neighbors to take this opportunity for a free family picture. No one must buy any picture if he/she wishes not to. Again, thank you to all those who joined us for the Marian Days celebration. It was so fun and so many people came to All Saints church and school. Thank you to all those who loved All Saints and helped us celebrate our Catholic faith and share our time, talents, and treasures with others. We are spreading the good news of God’s love with each other and helping others to be loved and to be thankful. Thank you all for your generous gift of time, talent and treasure that made this event possible. Jesus loves us all, Fr. Hien All Saints Parishioners,
I love you all and God bless you all. Thank you to all those who joined us for the Marian Days celebration last weekend. It was so fun and so many people, about seven thousand, came to All Saints church and school. The Holy Mass was so beautiful, and the procession was great. Thank you to all those who loved All Saints and helped us celebrate our Catholic faith and shared our time, talents, and treasures with others. We are spreading the good news of God’s love with each other and helping others to be loved and to be thankful. Everyone who came to the celebration was amazed from A to Z, including the meal we fed them. Yes, we provided more than they could eat. There were so many people that we ran out of parking lots for them. A special thank you to our Knights for cooking the meat for us and the ladies of the parish for providing dessert. Thank you to the All Saints Dragon Team for entertaining everyone, especially the kids. Yes, kids are blessed with talents, and they love to share. I am very proud of our children and all those who are helping with this large gathering. Thank you all for your generous gift of your time, talent and treasure that made this event possible. Finally, please sign up to have your family picture taken on November 24th-25th—in the school. The 8x10 professional picture is free to you and to any family, including families that don't belong to our church or school. Please encourage your loved ones and neighbors to take this opportunity for a free family picture. No one must buy any picture if he/she wishes not to. Jesus loves us all, and I love you too, Fr. Hien My Dear Parishioners, I love you all and may our Blessed Mother Mary continue praying and leading us to her beloved Son Jesus, so that we all may have life eternally in heaven. Please know that this month of October is the month of the rosary, praying to Mother Mary for the salvation of all souls, especially the souls of our deceased families and friends. It was Jesus who entrusted His beloved Mother to us as our spiritual Mother, to love us, to pray for us until we are all in heaven with Her. For this reason, God has been sending Mary to countless places throughout the world, places that have been identified and places that have not, so that she could bring God’s promise of divine love and salvation to all humankind. Mary is God’s instrument of His divine mercy, love, forgiveness, peace, and eternal life. Did you know that Mary also appeared in Vietnam to strengthen the Vietnamese Catholics during their many decades of persecution? Yes, our church of All Saints holds a special statue of Mary, our Lady of Lavang, so anyone can come to Mary for her intercession and love. Thank you: A special thanks to our Bishop Kemme, many guest priests and sisters from Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas, as well as thousands of people who are coming to All Saints, to celebrate our Catholic faith and to give our devotion and honor to our beloved Mother Mary at this Saturday’s special 3pm Mass and procession. It will be a beautiful gathering in church and celebration of our faith with our bishop. We, the people of All Saints Catholic church and school, are well loved because of our Catholic faith and our hospitality and service to one another, including toward those who are not Catholic. I am very proud of our children and all those who are helping with this large gathering. Thank you all for your generous gift of your time, talent and treasure that made this event possible. Finally, please sign up to have your family picture taken on November 1st-2nd—in the K of C hall, and finally 24th-25th—in the school. Your family picture will be ready for you and your family before Christmas. The 8x10 professional picture is free to you and to any family, including families that don't belong to our church or school. Please encourage your loved ones and neighbors to take this opportunity for a free family picture. No one must buy any picture if he/she wishes not to. Jesus loves us all, and I love you too, Fr. Hien My Dear Parishioners,
First, please sign up to have your family picture taken on October 6th-7th—in the school, or November 1st-2nd—in the K of C hall, and finally 24th-25th—in the school. Your family picture will be ready for you and your family before Christmas. The 8x10 professional picture is free to you and to any family, including families that don't belong to our church or school. Please encourage your loved ones and neighbors to take this opportunity for a free family picture. No one has to buy any picture if he/she wishes not to. Second, Saturday, October 7th is our All Saints Marian Day. Everyone is welcome to join us and our school for lots of free fun activities beginning at 3pm Friday and all day Saturday. Please note that the 4pm Mass on this Saturday will be at 3pm, followed by the Eucharistic procession with the statue of Mary. Bishop Kemme will be the celebrant for Mass and the procession. There will be many guest priests and religious sisters from out of state who will join us too. We will provide free dinner to everyone outdoors with a music concert. Finally, all the heating and air units have been delivered to the school. All the rooftop units are installed, and the workers are connecting the electrical and gas lines. The roofers are doing their job also. The excavator was here excavating the northeast corner of the gym for the new electrical line. This means that the school will have its own power line instead of using the current power line from the church. When the weather is good, the workers work outside and when it’s not then they will be working inside to install other heating units for the school cafeteria, the gym, the kitchen by the gym, and the nearby restroom and hallways. Also, the roofers have replaced the east section of the school roof and it’s beautiful. Now, they are working at the north hall way and the St. Agnes room. Let us ask God’s blessings upon all those who have loved us and served us with their time, talents and treasures, including our teachers, staff, volunteers and hvac people and roofers. Jesus loves us all, and I love you too, Fr. Hien My Dear Parishioners,
Are you ready for October? Yes, it’s near and we will have many events going on this month. First, please sign up to have your family picture taken on October 6th-7th, or one of these dates on November 1st-2nd, and finally 24th-25th. Your family picture will be ready for you and your family before Christmas. The 8x10 professional picture is free to you and to any family, including families that don't belong to our church or school. The pictorial company is inviting anyone to take their photos for the good of their family. At All Saints, we want to love and welcome everyone to our church and school so that we can grow together in faith and in love of God and neighbors. So, yes, we welcome you all. The last time we had our pictorial directory done was in 2018, five years ago. It’s time for us to do our duty by having family pictures taken for the good of our families and also for the good of our church. Please know that you do not have to buy additional pictures, unless you want to. Second, we are only two weeks away from the All Saints Marian Day on Saturday, October 7th. Everyone is welcome to join us and our school for lots of fun activities beginning 3pm Friday and all day Saturday. Please notice that the 4pm Mass on that Saturday is going to be at 3pm, followed by the Eucharistic procession with the statue of Mary. Bishop Kemme will be the celebrant for Mass and the procession. We will provide free dinner to everyone outdoors. Special thanks to our Knights for cooking the food and the Altar Society for serving desserts and drinks. Everyone is welcome to join us, regardless of your religion, race or language. Please pray for All Saints so that we will be blessed with many generous hands and hearts to help us celebrate our faith and to share God’s blessings with others, especially the non-Catholics that need hope and faith in them and their families. We all will be saints in heaven if today we hear His voice and share His love with others. We live to lead all people to Jesus. Jesus loves us all, and I love you too, Fr. Hien My Dear Parishioners And Blessings To You All,
It looks like the super hot summer is behind us and the nice, cool weather is starting because the fall season will start on Saturday, September 23. Fall is one of my favorite times of the year and I think it would be for many of you as well. First, the nice and cool weather is much more pleasant than over 100 degree summer days or the below zero degree winter. Second, the cool weather leads everything outside toward the winter, the changing colors of the leaves in the trees. Fall is beautiful not only here in Kansas but especially up in the northern states, in the forests and mountains. I highly recommend to those who have time to travel north, northeast and northwest to see the wonders of God’s creation and beauty. One of my bucket lists is to travel in the fall to these beautiful states to see and to enjoy God’s mighty work in His creation. I am hoping that I can do this sometime in the near future, (not this year yet due to the hvac and roofing projects we are installing). Third, the fall is also my hunting season when I can enjoy what Kansas has to offer in its fields of corn, soybeans, tall grasses and especially in the birds of the sky, but not the coyotes, raccoons, rats and especially snakes. Did you know that Kansas harvests about 100,000 deer every year? Yes, there are a lot of people who like to hunt and to share their game meat with others. Most of the time, those who are hunters, fishers, gardeners and outdoor persons are those who connect well with other people and God. They have learned to be patient and above all, to respect Mother Nature. Therefore, they normally do the same in their daily lives at home, work and even at church. So, please learn to be an outdoor person, it does a lot of good to your body, mind and soul. In addition, it’s the best method to de-stress and to have a good night’s sleep, which is very important for every person. I am thankful to God for my childhood that made me a handyman, a gardener and a fisherman, so that I can be God’s fisher of men today. Finally, we are three weeks away from the All Saints Marian Day on Saturday, October 7th. Please notice that the 4pm Mass on that day is going to be at 3pm, followed by the Eucharistic procession with the statue of Mary. Bishop Kemme will be the celebrant for Mass and the procession. We will provide free dinner to everyone outdoors, and there will be lots of fun all day and in the evening. Everyone is welcome to join us, regardless of your religion, race or language. God bless us all and I love you all, Fr. Hien |
